Cook juicy, flavorful shrimp in the air fryer in under 15 minutes. This simple, no-breading recipe is perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or frozen, no thaw needed)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. If using frozen shrimp, place them in a bowl and toss with olive oil until lightly coated. If using fresh, place them directly in a bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour the butter mixture over the shrimp and toss well to coat evenly.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Cooking time depends on the size of the shrimp.
  7. Remove from the air fryer, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use shrimp that are medium to large size.
  • If you prefer a crispier texture, you can lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray before adding the butter mixture.
  • This shrimp is excellent served over rice, tossed into salads, or used for low carb shrimp tacos.
