A juicy and flavorful London broil recipe inspired by Alton Brown, perfect for a summer dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (2-3 lb) London broil steak
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary in a bowl. Whisk to combine.
  2. Place the London broil steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is fully coated.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat your broiler to high.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Pat the steak dry with paper towels.
  6. Place the steak on a broiler pan.
  7. Broil for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (54-57°C) for medium-rare.
  8. Remove the steak from the broiler and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.

Notes

  • For best results, slice the steak against the grain.
  • Serve with your favorite side dishes.
  • This recipe is great for grilling season and Father’s Day.
