You can quickly prepare this easy roasted broccolini side dish. Roasting brings out a tender, slightly charred texture, and the garlic and Parmesan add strong flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb broccolini, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
  2. Place the trimmed broccolini on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the broccolini with olive oil. Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together directly on the sheet pan until the broccolini is evenly coated.
  4. Spread the broccolini into a single layer on the baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the stems are tender-crisp and the florets show slight charring.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot broccolini.
  7. Toss gently to coat. If you want extra brightness, drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving.

Notes

  • For crispier florets, you can briefly place the baking sheet under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • If you do not have fresh Parmesan, use pre-grated, but fresh grating provides better melting and flavor.
  • This side dish pairs well with steak, chicken, or fish.
