Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 (14.5 ounce) can pizza sauce or marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices (or your favorite pizza toppings)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or a similar sized oven-safe skillet.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix these ingredients until they are smooth and fully combined.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared baking dish. This forms the base layer of your dip.
Pour the pizza sauce or marinara sauce over the cream cheese layer. Spread it gently to cover the base.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce layer.
Distribute the mini pepperoni slices and any other desired toppings evenly over the cheese.
Top the dip with the remaining half of the mozzarella cheese.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
Let the dip cool for about 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips, crusty bread, or vegetable sticks.
Notes
For a make ahead dip, assemble the entire dip up to the baking step, cover it, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Add 5 to 10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.
Customize your dip by adding cooked, crumbled sausage, sliced black olives, or diced green peppers to the topping layer.
If you prefer a slow cooker method, combine all ingredients except half the mozzarella, layer as directed, top with remaining mozzarella, and cook on low for 2 hours or high for 1 hour.
