Make these simple, bite-sized pecan pie balls without turning on your oven. This no-bake recipe captures the sweet, nutty flavor of traditional pecan pie in a quick, portable treat perfect for holidays or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for dipping)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Mix these dry ingredients well.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir everything together until a thick, uniform dough forms.
  3. Scoop the dough using a small cookie scoop or spoon and roll it between your palms to form small, one-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the pecan pie balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. This step is necessary before dipping.
  5. Prepare the chocolate coating. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Return the coated balls to the parchment-lined sheet.
  7. Refrigerate the chocolate-dipped pecan pie balls for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate sets completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, toast the pecans lightly before chopping them.
  • If you prefer a different coating, you can use white chocolate or a mixture of melted butterscotch chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Store these homemade pecan truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
