A photogenic Halloween punch with an apple and cranberry base, spooky garnishes, and a dark sugar rim. This recipe scales for parties and can be made with or without alcohol.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 (64 ounce) bottle cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 cup green apple vodka (optional)
  • 1/4 cup black sanding sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Gummy worms
  • Dry ice (optional, for smoky effect)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sugar rim: On a small plate, mix the black sanding sugar with the lime juice. Dip the rim of each glass into the mixture to coat.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine the apple cider, cranberry juice cocktail, and lemon-lime soda.
  3. If using, stir in the green apple vodka.
  4. Add gummy worms to the punch bowl for a spooky garnish.
  5. For a smoky effect, carefully add small pieces of dry ice to the punch bowl just before serving. Handle dry ice with gloves and ensure good ventilation.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a deeper red color, you can substitute some of the apple cider with pomegranate juice.
  • If you don’t have black sanding sugar, you can mix black food coloring with granulated sugar.
  • Ensure dry ice is handled safely and never touched with bare skin.
