Ingredients
Scale
1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Carefully place the tuna patties in the hot skillet.
Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
Remove the patties from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot.
Notes
Serve with your favorite tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon.
These patties can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a healthier option.
For crispier patties, ensure the oil is hot before adding them to the skillet.
