Ingredients
Scale
4 cups Whole Milk
6 ounces good quality White Chocolate, finely chopped or chips
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt
Instructions
Pour the whole milk into a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the milk is steaming and small bubbles form around the edges. Do not let it boil.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm milk.
Whisk constantly until the white chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This may take a few minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the pinch of salt.
Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs. Serve immediately with your preferred toppings.
Notes
For a richer drink, substitute half of the whole milk with heavy cream.
Use high-quality white chocolate (at least 20% cocoa butter) for the best flavor and smoothest texture.
To make this a Starbucks copycat version, add 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract along with the vanilla.
Top with whipped cream, white chocolate shavings, or mini marshmallows.
